Itinerary:

Day 1

Start your exciting island journey by catching a morning flight from Kuala Lumpur to Sandakan, preferably before 11 am. When you land at Sandakan Airport, someone will be there to pick you up. A short 30-minute ride will take you from the airport to the Sabah Parks Jetty, where your island adventure begins.

Hop on a speedy boat at 10:00 AM for a fun ride to Selingan Turtle Island. It takes an hour, and you’ll get to check into your cozy island room. The island is yours to explore – sunbathe, swim, or snorkel in the clear blue water. After a delicious lunch at the resort, get ready for an interesting evening.

Gather at the Parks Exhibition Hall at 6:30 PM for a quick meeting, followed by a cool educational video at 7:00 PM. At 7:30 PM, enjoy a tasty dinner at Cafeteria. Then, a park ranger will tell you when to watch turtles laying their eggs on the beach. Spend the night in your island chalet, surrounded by the calming sounds of the ocean. It’s the start of an awesome island adventure!

  • Transfer to Sabah Parks Jetty , the 30 minutes land transfer from Sandakan airport to jetty

Begin your day with a delightful breakfast, bidding farewell to the picturesque Turtle Island. At 7:00 am, depart by boat from the island back to the mainland jetty, ready for your next adventure.

Prepare for an enchanting visit to the renowned Sepilok Orang Utan Centre, where you’ll be immersed in the fascinating world of these incredible primates. At 9:00 am, watch an educational video to deepen your understanding of orangutans and their conservation. Witness a heartwarming orangutan feeding session at 10:00 am, followed by the exciting outdoor activities of the juvenile orangutans at 10:30 am. Afterward, indulge in a simple lunch at the Sepilok Cafeteria.

Continue your journey to the captivating Kinabatangan River, arriving at the lodge at 3:30 pm, where you’ll be welcomed with a refreshing cup of tea or coffee. Embark on a thrilling afternoon river cruise at 4:00 pm, as you explore the river’s banks and spot diverse wildlife. This region boasts an unparalleled population density of diverse and sought-after wildlife species in Sabah. Get ready to encounter majestic orangutans, unique proboscis monkeys, enchanting pygmy elephants, lively langurs, elusive wild cats, ancient crocodiles, and a myriad of awe-inspiring bird species.

After an adventurous excursion, enjoy a delicious dinner at the lodge. Finally, return to your hotel, estimated arrival around 9:30 pm, where you can reflect on the day’s incredible encounters and prepare for the next chapter of your journey.
