PADI Open Water Course
Throughout the course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of scuba diving. You will be completing five confined open water dives and knowledge development sessions and make four open water dives to a maximum of 18 meters.

Recommended flight arrival time at Tawau Airport: Before 12pm
Welcome to Tawau airport. We suggest you choose our land transfer service from tawau airport/hotel to Semporna jetty (90 minutes journey). After that, proceed to take the boat from Semporna jetty to Pulau Mabul (around 45 minute journey).
After check in, you can free and easy.

Theory Class
The theory consists of 5 chapters, each including a DVD, a knowledge review and a quiz. You will learn about safety rules, breathing and equalization techniques, how to perform the different skills involved in the practical lessons, dive planning considerations, equipment use and care, responsible interactions with marine life and much, much more! At the end of the theory lessons, you’ll complete the final exam, which is 50 questions (multiple choice).
The theory takes a full day to complete. If you’re short on time, or simply don’t want to spend your holiday in the classroom, you may want to consider signing up for eLearning. With PADI eLearning, you will complete the theory before your trip, from the comfort of your home. This will save you a full day, as you can head straight in for the practical lessons when you arrive here.

Practical Class – Confined Water Dives
During the 5 confined water dives you will practise 24 basic scuba skills under the guidance of your PADI instructor. The skills will be demonstrated to you, and repeated as needed to build your confidence. You will start out on our purpose built training platform, which is shallow enough to stand up in. As you progress through the 5 dives, you’ll head into the deeper waters of our confined area (5m maximum) and you’ll even go on a mini dive to put your skills to practise! You will also need to complete a 200m swim, or 300m snorkel, as well as a 10 minute float. All this is done in the calm waters right in front of our jetty, which means you’ll be able to see some awesome marine life from the moment you start! It’s not unheard of to have turtles swim past you as you’re practising your skills.

After waking up, relax and enjoy the breakfast. Then pack up your luggage, get ready for check out. After check out, depart from Mabul island to Semporna jetty by boat.
