Located on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, Kuantan is the state capital of Pahang. The population is estimated at about 600,000 making it the largest city on the each coast. The city is near the mouth of the Kuantan River while facing the South China Sea. Kuantan has a major involvement in the tourism industry. How to get there:

There are a few ways to get to Kuantan town.

By Air

If you are coming by air, you will arrive at the small Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Airport in Kuantan. There are several flights daily coming from Kuala Lumpur and Penang as well. Plus, there are international flights to Singapore four times weekly. From the airport, you may take a taxi to the town center in about 15 minutes drive.

By Bus

As for bus, there are buses coming from major cities like Kota Bahru, Johor Bahru, Singapore, Melaka, Penang and more.

By Car

If you are driving, the Karak Highway and East Coast Expressway are connecting to Kuantan from Kuala Lumpur. The journey of 250 kilometers last for about 3 and a half hours. There are exit at either Gambang or Kuantan.
