The World Harvest Festival is celebrated by the Dayaks in Sarawak and West Kalimantan as a prelude to the noteworthy Gawai Festival. It is a 3 days 2 night event to give the public a chance to learn more about each community’s culture, traditions, music and dances. The Dayaks are the indigenous people of Borneo who have their own culture, dialect, laws, customs and territory. This festival showcases the uniqueness of Sarawak’s Dayak community and is celebrated with people from neighboring countries such as Thailand, Indonesia and Philippines. The highlights of this event include a Miss World Harvest Festival, an Ironman World Harvest Festival, a concert with international artistes, Dayak Food Festival, various Dance workshops, Sarawakian community folklores and community songs.
